Poha Cutlet ( Flattened Rice Cutlet)

Poha is most common breakfast of Indian cuisine. Usually We make poha pulao , chivda  or ladoo using poha/Flattened rice. Today i am presenting delicious and one of the best breakfast of poha , Poha Cutlets .
  Preparation Time: 15 mins Cooking Time: 10 mins Makes : 6 tikkis Ingredients:
  • Poha (Flattened rice) - 1 cup
  • Potato - 2 big sized (boiled)
  • Green chilies - 2/3 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece (grated)
  • Green coriander - 3 to 5 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Bread (Used whole wheat bread) - 2/3
  • Corn flour - 3 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder -  1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing and cooking - 3 tbsp
Method :
  • Wash and soak poha for 5 to 10 min.
  • Peel the boil potato and mash them .
  • Mix mash potato and poha.
  • Add green chilli, ginger, chopped coriander, black pepper , salt and mix them properly .
  • Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts and shape them into round and flat cutlet/patties /tikki shape.
  • Add 1/4 cup water into the corn flour and prepare a thin mixture.
  • Add salt and black pepper and stir well .
  • Break the bread and put it in grinder. Bread crumbs are ready.
  • Dip the prepared cutlet in the mixture of corn flour.
  • After dipping it into the mixture place them in bread crumbs.
  • Press the cutlet from all the sides in bread crumbs and place them on a plate.
  • Heat a non stick pan/tava & grease it with half teaspoon of oil and cook the cutlet over medium low flame .
  • Flip the cooked cutlet to cook on other side till golden brown.
  • Remove the cooked poha cutlet from flame.
  • Serve this yummy poha cutlet with green chutney or Tomato Sauce.
