Stuffed Red Chilli Pickle

Red Chilli Pickle – Lal Mirch ka Achar

Red chilli pickle is common Indian spicy pickles. This pickle hot and spicy  with whole red chillies stuffed with spice powders and mustard oil. Red chilli pickle is a sour and spicy delight that can be enjoyed with simple hot paranthas in the morning. If you want some  spicy along with their meals at that time chili pickle tastes great. The best part is, it's easy to make.

Please follow below recipe


  • Red chillies - 1/2 kg
  • Mustard oil - 650 ml
  • Salt - 100 gm
  • Fennel seeds (saunf) - 150 gm
  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) - 50 gm
  • Dried mango powder - 50 gm
  • Mustard seeds - 100 gm
  • Coriander seeds - 50 gm
  • Ajwain - 100 gm
  • Kalaunji - 50 gm
  • Red chilli powder - 100 gm
  • Vinegar - 1/4 cup
  • Wash the Red chillies & dry it in direct sun light for some time.
  • Heat the kadhai/pan slightly & roast fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • Grind roasted methi , coriander seeds and mustard seeds in a dry grinder. Mix with salt and seeds.
  • Mix all ingredients together till uniformly mixed.
  • Pour  oil and mix well.
  • The oil should be enough to help you gather the mixture.
  • The mixture is ready to be filled into the hollow chillies.
  • Stuff chillies with this masala and put them in jar.
  • Keep the pickle in sunlight for 2-3 days.
  • Red chilly pickle is ready.
  • Now serve with plain chapati  or rice.
